Dear Sống Foundation!...
Reading the concise yet incredibly captivating pages at the beginning of the book “From a community project to the Sống Foundation & Resilient Housing Handbook”, I journeyed through emotions of surprise, astonishment, joy, and ultimately deep admiration, respect, and gratitude for my young friend Jang Keu, her collaborators, and the many others who have joined hands in this remarkable program.
I admire, respect and am deep grateful to those who initiated and participated in the Sống Foundation, first and foremost for their heartfelt compassion. Not only do they possess kindness, but they also truly carry a noble love for their fellow countrymen, embodying the spirit of “people of one nation must care for each other” as they reach out to those in particularly challenging circumstances, living in areas frequently ravaged by natural disasters, where hope seems lost and resistance appears futile. They come, not merely with money and essential supplies like many others engaged in charitable work, but with something greater: they bring ideas and a profoundly humane approach. They tightly grasp the hands of their struggling compatriots, guiding and supporting them, and most importantly, awakening their faith, empowering them to take charge and join hands in addressing their difficulties in a solid, sustainable way.
